Parwanoo is an industrial town in the Himachal Pradesh. For a state that is so dominated by the great beauty of the Himalayas, the words industrial town seem quite strange. Yet this is a place in Solan district which is definitely improving and growing in leaps and bounds and it does the whole state extremely proud. Parwanoo today is a very essential industrial town. 80% of the population here is completely involved in the industries and they have given new life to this area. One of the places that suffered drought and less crop, the advent of industrialization made Parwanoo the progressing town that it is today. The Kalka Shimla heritage rail line passes through this town. The railway station is known as Taksal. This is one of the rail lines that pass through some of the most beautiful parts of the country and give you a new glimpse into the wonder of this country. The landscape of Parwanoo makes it the ideal destination for trekking and nature walks. There are quite a few popular trekking trails which can be used for a day-long trek around the beautiful hills and forest areas. There are also some lovely orchards in this place which just keep adding to the beauty of this mountainous city. This is a place where a visitor and be laid back and enjoy the nature, yet be a part of a growing city. Parwanoo is definitely a place that is worth a visit.

  • Renuka

    "Renuka or Yellamma or Ekvira or Ellai amman or Ellai amma (Marathi: ???? ??????/ ????????, Kannada: ???? ??????? ??????, Telugu: ???? ?????/ ???????) is worshiped as the Goddess (devi) of the fallen, in the Hindu pantheon. Yellamma is a patron goddess of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Her devotees have revered her as the \"Mother of the Universe\" or Jagadamba. Legends say that Yellamma is the incarnation of Kali, who on one hand symbolizes the death of ego, and on the other hand is the mother who is compassionate about her children. Renuka is also worshipped in Maharashtra as Goddess Ekvira and is considered as the Kuladevata by the Koli People[1]\nYellamma is worshipped mostly in South India, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Maharastra, where the deity is known by many names: Mahankali, Jogamma, Somalamma, Gundamma, Pochamma, Mysamma, Jagadambika, Holiyamma, Renukamata, Yellamma,Mariamma and Renuka Devi, Ellai Ammam "


  • Dagshai

    "Dagshai is one of the oldest cantonment towns in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is situated on top of a 5689 feet (1734 mtr) high hillock that stands sphinx-like astride the Kalka-Shimla Highway at a point about 11 km from Solan. It was founded in 1847 by the East India Company by securing free of cost five villages from Maharaja of Patiala aka Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. The name of these villages were Dabbi, Badhtiala, Chunawad, Jawag and Dagshai.\nThe new cantonment was named after the last named village, as it was the largest and most strategically located.\nThe name Dagshai, according to a popular local legend was derived from Daag-e-Shahi. During the Moghul times a Daag-e-Shahi (royal mark) was put on the forehead of the criminals and sent packing to the then Dagshai village."


  • Subathu

    "Gurkha Fort is located in Subathu which is around 16 km from Parwanoo. Subathu is a cantonment area and the ruins of the historical Gurkha fort can be still found here."


  • Pinjore

    "Pinjore Gardens (also known as Pinjor Gardens or Yadavindra Gardens) is located in Pinjore, Panchkula district in the Indian state of Haryana. It is an example of the Mughal Gardens style, and was built by Patiala Dynasty Rulers.\nThe garden is in the village of Pinjore lie 22 km from Chandigarh on the Ambala-Shimla road. It was created in the 17th century by architect Nawab Fidai Khan during the early reign of his foster brother Aurangzeb (r. 1658-1707).. In recent times, it has been renamed as 'Yadavindra Garden' in the memory of Maharaja Yadavindra Singh of the former princely state of Patiala.[7] After it was initially built by Fidai Khan, the garden was refurbished by Yadevendra Singh and restored to its former spledour, since it had grown into a wild jungle after initially built due to long years of neglect.[12] The garden has been laid in seven terraces with the main gate of the garden opening into the highest first terrace which has a palace built in Rajasthani-Mughal style. It is called the \"Shish Mahal\" (palace of glass), which is adjoined by a romantic \"Hawa Mahal\" (airy Palace). The second terrace with arched doorways has the \"Rang Mahal\" (painted palace). The third terrace has cypress trees and flowerbeds leading to dense groves of fruit trees. The next terrace has the \"Jal Mahal\" (palace of water) with a square fountain bed and a platform to relax. Fountains and tree groves are provided in the next terrace. The lowermost terrace has an open-air theatre,which is designed as a disc-like structure. A zoo adjoins the gardens.[7] The garden and the temple complex laid in an open air museum are integrated through well laid out and well drained (to remove any water logging) pathways and the whole complex has been beautifully illuminated. A heritage train has been introduced to visit all the monuments and the gardens in the complex.[5][10] Special festivals such as the Baisakhi (spring) festival in April and the Mango festival in June and July are major attractions at the gardens."


  • Kasauli

    "Kasauli is a cantonment and town, located in Solan district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The cantonment was established by the British Raj in 1842 as a Colonial hill station,[1] 77 kilometres (48 mi) from Shimla, 65 kilometres (40 mi) from Chandigarh, and 50 kilometres (31 mi) from Panchkula, and lies at a height of 1,800 metres (5,900 ft).[2]"
