Shimla , Himachal Pradesh
Naldehra is one of the gems of Uttarakhand. Located at a height of 2044 m above sea level, right in the midst of the lofty Himalayas and very close to Shimla, this is one of those places that make you sigh with its beauty. Naldehra is the place which has the legacy of owning the oldest golf course in the country and it holds many prestigious Golf tournaments throughout the year. Naldehra is a place that may have been established by the British for their colonial pleasures, but today it is a part of the country that makes us all very proud.
The name Naldehra literally means the abode of the King of Snakes. This is evident by the famous temple that is located here dedicated to this very serpent king. The Mahunag temple dedicated to the God of Serpents is truly one of the loveliest temples in India, located in the middle of a golf course. It attracts people not only for the deity and the temple architecture but also for the breathtaking surroundings that it is located in.
Colossal deodars, enchanting greenery, huge and amazing mountains, and deep gorges make Naldehra a unique place among the tourist spots. It is a winner among the many hill stations that Uttarakhand boasts of. It is also the perfect place to enjoy horse riding as the roling lands of the golf courses offer you a unique opportunity for either a leisurely nature walk or a wonderful ride on the horseback. Both make you feel extremely lucky you are in this majestic place. Apart from Golf Course and Mahunag temple, tourists are attracted towards Chabba, a spectacular greenish scenic nearby village, Shaily Peak in Himalayan range and Mahakali Lake.
