Rampur is one of the places that borders Tibet and thus the culture here is very similar to those of the Tibetans. This place reflects a lot of ancient practices but it is absolutely fascinating to be a part of age old rules and rituals. This is a places which completely buzzes with mercantile activity, especially in November during the Lavi fair, the largest trading event in the north Himalayas attracting traders from Kashmir, Ladakh, Yarkand, and the Indian mainland. This is a place that has seen many missionaries pass by blessing this land and this is a route to salvation to many. Rampur is an experience that should not be missed.
