There is a hill station lying in the spur of the Dhauladhar range which is known as Dharamshala. A place which today is famous world over , it is quite the most ideal spot that you can find to bury all your grief and pain and shout out to the immense Himalayan mountain range. Being in Dharamshala automatically make you feel better. You will always know the difference. This hill station is wooded with oak and conifer trees and snow capped mountains enfold three sides of the town while the valley stretches in front. The snowline is perhaps more easily accessible at Dharamshala than at any other hill resort and it is possible to make a day's trek to a snow-point after an early morning's start. About a hundred years ago, Dharamshala was completely levelled by an earthquake. It was then painstakingly put together by all the people who were living here and by the government. Today it flourishes as one of the main health centres in India. Divided into two most distinct parts, Lower Dharamshala has civil offices and business establishments with courts. Kotwali bazar and Upper Dharamshala comprise of places with names which bear witness to its history like McLeod Ganj and Forsythe Ganj. Known as the Little Lhasa in India, Dharamshala has acclaimed international fame as a temporary abode of his holiness The Dalai Lama. McLeodgunj, which is 9 kms away bears witness to the residence of his holiness and has travellers from all over the country coming here. In and around Dharamshala, one can visit the Kangra Art museum at Kotwali bazar, War memorial, Kunal Pathri temple and tea gardens on way to Kunal Pathri. This is one plac which has manageds , for generations to set everyones heart and mind to rest and will keep doing so in future.
