Amini is a small island in the set of Lakshwadeep islands. When we say its small it truly is. If you want to experience life in a small secluded island and want to feel slightly the peace Robinson Crusoe must have felt at certain points of his adventure this island is it. Perfectly oval in shape and perfectly beautiful from all sides Amini is a little dream on the sea. One of the first islands in the archipelago to be inhabited Amini is simplicity in the extreme. With a post office, hospital and one tiny village, Amini really offers you nothing else but peace. Isnt it the most tempting prospect of all. There is a tremendously huge lagoon in between Amini and Pitti Island, the latter being uninhabited. Thus this is truly close to living at the edge of the world. There is a wealth of water sports and activities that you may indulge in,if you travel to the neighbouring islands and take a peek. Teeming with ocean life one of the best activities on this island in scuba diving. There is special classes arranged for the adventurous souls and after the training you dive right in- with equipments of course. The other water activities you can indulge in are snorkeling, kayaking, sailing, glass bottom boat rides, water skiing, deep sea fishing, and sea excursions. Suffice to say, if you are a water baby, you would want to live here forever. But if you want solitude, beautiful birds chirping, sun , sea and sand without any pretebntions at all come to Amini. It will set all the tortured souls to rest.
