Bitra or Bitra Par is a coral atoll in the Amindivi subgroup of the Lakshadweep group of islands. According to the census, the least populated island of the entire group, it is still one of the most beautiful places to be in. A veritable powerhouse of corals, this island provides a clear view into the marine life that would probably be a difficult feat to achieve from anywhereelse. The beauty of Bitra is unparallel and the fact that it is relatively unexplored adds to the charm of it. Bitra is nature at its most pristine, iuntouched and pure form and you would feel it the moment you step into this magical island. The only thing of importance is the shrine of an Arab priest called Malik Mulla, and henceforth this small island has become aplace for pilgrimage for all those people who want to take a break, offer their prayers and feel the wonderful feeling only an unexplored island can give you. There is a wealth of water sports and activities that you may indulge in,if you travel to the neighbouring islands and take a peek. Teeming with ocean life one of the best activities on this island in scuba diving. There is special classes arranged for the adventurous souls and after the training you dive right in- with equipments of course. The other water activities you can indulge in are snorkeling, kayaking, sailing, glass bottom boat rides, water skiing, deep sea fishing, and sea excursions. Suffice to say, if you are a water baby, you would want to live here forever. The ideal island indeed, do visit it when you are touring the breathtaking Lakshadweep islands.
