Legend has it that Gurgaon was the home of Dronacharya who was the teacher of the Pandavas. Thus the village came to be known as Gurgaon or the teacher’s village. The Dronacharya well still exists in the city with remnants of the village quite well preserved. Later on it has been ruled under a succession of rulers from many dynasties. A place so very close to the capital, it has always held a lot of importance throughout the years. This is one place which has an extremely cosmopolitan population and look to it and has been home for many immigrants after the partition. One of the most expensive cities in the country, it is renowned for its state of the art infrastructure. A place which has been taken up by developers, it is constantly under construction and is still developing with a vengeance. One of the most well connected parts of the country with every single facility available Gurgaon is a dream city to live in.

    "Pataudi Palace, also called Ibrahim Kothi, is a former palace of the Nawabs of Pataudi, in Haryana, India, which is now part of Neemrana Hotels.\nAt the request of Iftikhar Ali Khan, the Nawab of Pataudi, the building was designed in the style of the colonial mansions of Imperial Delhi by Robert Tor Russell (1888-1972) assisted by the Austrian architect Karl Molt von Heinz.[1][2] Many Hindi movies have also been shot here[2] since it has been converted into a hotel.[3]"

    "Damdama Lake is a reservoir in Sohna, Gurgaon district in the Indian state of Haryana. It is one of the biggest lakes in Haryana and with an area of 3,000 acres (12.14 km2). Damdama Lake was formed when a stone and earthen dam constructed by the British was commissioned for rain water harvesting in 1947. The lake, held by an embankment, is fed mainly by monsoon rain pouring into a trough at the base of the Aravali hills. The Lake greets visitors with a water level down to 20 feet. During monsoon the water level reaches up to 50 to 60 ft."

    "The Sheesh Mahal (The Palace of Mirrors; Urdu: ???? ?? ????) is located within the Shah Burj block in northern-western corner of Lahore Fort. It was constructed under the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1631-32. The ornate white marble pavilion is inlaid with pietra dura and complex mirror-work of the finest quality. The hall was reserved for personal use by the imperial family and close aides. It is among the 21 monuments that were built by successive Mughal emperors inside Lahore Fort, and forms the jewel in the Fort's crown.[1] As part of the larger Lahore Fort Complex, it has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981."
