Jamnagar is a city in the Jamnagar district of the state of Gujarat. Lying in the Gulf of Kutchch is this s city in Gujarat which is keeping in pace with the economy of the state and progressing forward with a vengeance. This is a place which shot into great prominence because of the oil refinery established by the Reliance industries. Today is justifiably called the Oil City of India and is progressing in leaps and bounds. This is again one of the places which is extremely rich in culture and history and has been from the very beginning. This is the place where Lord Krishna established his kingdom of Dwarka and the whole dynasties of the Yadavas were born here. It ws also the capital of the princely state of Nawabgarh and has a lot of historical value attached to it because of the princely state. As with the most places in Gujarat this is also a place which has a number of ancient temples which speak of the many changes that this land has been a witness to. Jamnagar contains several ancient temples such as Sidhnath Mahadev Temple in Jamnagar city area, the Navlakhi Temple in Ghumli, Kileshwar Temple in Barda Hills, The Ancient Sun Temple at Gop and The Ancient Bhid Bhanjan Temple built by the Jams. Being such and old city, this place also has many other interesting places such as the Dabargadh palace, Lakota fort, Willingdon Crest, Pratap Vilas Palace and the kothaBastion to name a few. Today Jamnagar may be a modern city with a very cosmopolitan culture. Yet it is a city very aware of its roots. Thus this is a place which offers you a wonderful balance between the old and the new.

    "Pirotan Island (also known as Pirothan) is an Arabian Sea island in the Marine National Park, Jamnagar District of Gujarat state, India. It is located 12 nautical miles (22 km) off the coast (Bedi Port), consists of mangroves and low-tide beaches,[1] and has an area of 3 square kilometres. Rozi island is located about 10 kilometres to the southeast.\nOf the 42 islands in the park, Pirotan Island is the most popular and is one of the two islands where visitors are normally permitted.[citation needed] Visitation is strictly limited, permission is required from the Forest Department, Customs Department and the Ports.[1] The mangroves consist mainly of species of Rhizophora, Avicennia and Ceriops.[2]"

    "Marine National Park in the Gulf of Kutch is situated on the southern shore of the Gulf of Kachchh in the Jamnagar District of Gujarat state, India. In 1980, an area of 270 km2. from Okha to Jodiya was declared Marine Sanctuary. Later, in 1982, a core area of 110 km2 was declared Marine National Park under the provisions of the Wildlife (protection) Act, 1972 of India. It is the first national marine park of India. There are 42 islands on the Jamnagar coast in the Marine National Park, most of them surrounded by reefs. The best known island is Pirotan.[1] Among the fauna found here include: coral, dugong and the finless porpoise. There are 42 islands in the Arabian Sea with coral reefs and the park is situated in one of those.[2]"
